In his tweet, CouRage further questioned Infinity Ward’s decision to withdraw the in-game prestige system, not allowing to reach levels higher than 155 and resetting levels to 55 at the beginning of each season.

He also mentioned how everyone loves the new battle royale, Warzone. But at the same time, he feels everyone should have something to showcase for their progression in the game.

Infinity Ward brought in significant changes to Modern Warfare’s ranking system. The new leveling system is different from the previous ones in other Call of Duty titles. The developers abandoned the prestige system, and players are only allowed to reach a maximum level of 155. Moreover, players level down to the 55 marks at the start of each season.

Content creators, as well as players, have underlined the issues with the present rank progression system in the past. Whether Infinity Ward restructures the ranking system and brings in changes remains to be seen. Only time will tell whether players can showcase their ranks as a merit for extensively grinding the game.
