Team USA raised their hands as they won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. However, not all teams had a sweet end to their hard work. Notably, Slovenia and Luka Doncic. They had a great run through the entire tournament, but couldn’t bring a medal.
After losing to France, Slovenia had to battle Australia for the bronze medal. Luka Doncic created yet another record in the semi-finals against France with the 2nd most assists in an Olympic game. However, he could not get the Slovenians over the line because he had a bad shooting night.
In the Bronze medal game, Luka suffered a similar story. Even though he added 22 points, he shot just 7-20 from the field. Thanks to Patty Mills’ 43 point performance, Australia won their first-ever medal on the big stage. Now, reports are circulating around Luka Doncic suffering a wrist injury during the Olympics.

Luka Doncic needs time
Luka Doncic reflected on the fact that he has had no rest since the start of the NBA season. He said that he will be fine, but needs time to rest up. Obviously heartbroken, Luka will now look to reunite with Dallas after his break.
He said, “My wrist is going to be fine, I need a couple of days off from basketball. I’ve had every day basketball since the beginning of NBA season. A lot of games, so I need a couple days off.”

It really has been an exhausting season for Luka Doncic. However, he could win nothing for his club or country. He gave it his all in both places, averaging 35.7 points in the playoffs for the Mavs. And, he also put up ridiculous numbers for Slovenia in the Olympics.
Asking for just a few days of rest is really the most shocking part. Not only does he have an injury, but he must be worn out as well. Luka had one of the most memorable Olympics when it comes to his performances. Records are the one thing that comes to mind.
