Official US Rowing Team Announced for Tokyo Olympics 2020

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 is set to commence on July 23rd. Japan has taken strict measures with the ongoing pandemic, and the event will be behind closed doors. Ever since the Olympics came into existence, Rowing has been a major event in the games.
Unsurprisingly, the USA is the most dominant nation in Rowing as well. With 89 medals in the Olympics, the US sends a strong contingent to Tokyo this time. Gevvie Stone, Meghan Musnicki are some of the best rowers representing the US this time around.
Some of the major events in rowing are Single Sculls, Double Sculls, Quadruple Sculls, Coxless Pair, Coxless Four, Eight.

Rowing schedule and events for Tokyo
The Rowing events will start on July 23rd and lasts till July 30th. There are 14 events for both men and women (seven each). Moreover, the location for the event is held in Sea Forest Waterway which is close to Central Tokyo.
The rowers will first enter to preliminary rounds, and after that, advance to the semifinals. Finally, the winners of the semifinals enter the final.

Even though there is no audience to see the event, rowers are expected to take the event by storm. Some of the rowers are expected to win the gold medal again.
Hamish Bond from New Zealand won the gold medal in both the London and Rio Olympics. Genevra Stone from the US won a silver medal for single sculls in Rio 2016. She hopes to claim the gold medal this time in Tokyo. Meghan Musnicki is another major competitor from the US.
The Rowing competition has been a part of the Olympics since 1900. Since then, the sport has produced some outstanding rowers. The Tokyo Olympics looks to be the latest stage for rowers to compete.
