The Brazilian went all-out trying to find the finish, however, at the end of five rounds, he was technically outdone by Vettori. Marvin Vettori showed why he looks to be the future of the middleweight division by fighting a smart fight.
This fight came in with its fair share of controversy as the contracted bout took place at light heavyweight and not middleweight, as scheduled. The bout was changed to a 195-pound catchweight and was finally changed to a light heavyweight showdown.
After many changes, Paulo Costa weighed in at 204.5 pounds for Saturday's main event vs. Marvin Vettori.
