Despite the fight against Tyson Fury not being for a title, Ngannou showcased his exceptional talent in the ring. He managed to drop Fury with a knockdown and avoided taking heavy damage in return. Fury, who had claimed he would knockout Ngannou in the 6 round, managed to survive a split decision win. But this decision has stirred controversy amongst fans and fighters alike.

While the exact figures for the fight are yet to be revealed, boxer Derek Chisora has stated that Tyson Fury will be making $50 million for the bout. Ngannou has been reported to have secured a payday of $10 million for this fight. The numbers are significant for Ngannou, as according to ‘TalkSport’, the former UFC champion had made just around $600,000 dollars for his title defense against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. The reported compensation for the Fury fight dwarfs the UFC amount by a significant margin.

Initial reports following his signing to PFL stated that Ngannou would be bagging a staggering $8 million for the super-fight. However, celebrity boxer and fellow PFL star Jake Paul made a correction to that assumption. “Francis got 8 figures. Not $8 million. Get it right,” ‘The Problem Child’ said in a tweet. Paul’s claim means that Ngannou must bag at least $10 million for the Riyadh outing. But the enormous paycheck is not the only thing that Ngannou stands to gain from the recently concluded bout.

The fight is also significant as it will supposedly go on the professional records for both men. But the ‘Riyadh Belt’ was announced as a prize for the winner of this bout. And Tyson Fury’s WBC world heavyweight title was most definitely not on the line. But since Tyson Fury’s win has a lot of controversy surrounding it, will Ngannou push for a rematch?
