While many in the world of mixed martial arts eagerly wait for crossover events, the UFC president, Dana White, might not be on board with most of the fights. In a recent interview with Jim Rome, on ‘The Jim Rome Show’, the UFC boss shared his opinion on the crossover of MMA and boxing, with stars Jake Paul and Nate Diaz as the contenders. The rumors of the fight between the two have been going around for a while now.

On his appearance on Rome’s show, White shed some light on his belief about ‘The Problem Child’ and opined about his upcoming fight with Diaz. He claimed that even though many people were into such fights, he was definitely not one of them.

Dana White shares his belief on Jake Paul fighting Nate Diaz

Paul has been in the talks for a long time. After defeating the former UFC champion, Anderson Silva, he is rumored to be planning to go against Diaz. However, not all fans of combat sports provided full support to such fights. Surprisingly, White was also one of the non-supporters.

Recently, on ‘The Jim Rome Show’, White was asked about his opinion on Diaz fighting a boxing bout against Paul. Although the UFC boss admitted to having a good relationship with Diaz, he simply could not bring himself to provide his support for the bout. Furthermore, he also criticized the YouTuber turned professional boxer for going against older MMA fighters.

White said, “I don’t know, man. I’ve been trying not to, not to, you know, I like Nate. Nate and I have, have a good relationship. It’s just, you know. Listen, Jake Paul went out and fought a real boxer who was his age, his weight, and he lost. So, as soon as he loses, he goes back to a 40-year-old MMA fighter, who is smaller than him, not his weight, it’s just, listen, it’s just one of those fights that, it’s just, I know that some people are into this, it’s just not what I’m into. Not my thing.”

While Diaz intends to venture into boxing, not everything has been going well for him.

The Stockton resident was witnessed choking the social media influencer outside the arena. Later, a warrant was issued which led to the fighter surrendering to the police.

His hearing has been scheduled for 27th June. As per Louisiana laws, the former UFC contender might be sentenced to 8 years in prison along with a $2000 fine. This might jeopardize his fight against Paul, which was scheduled for 5th August.
