UFC legend BJ Penn raised this question earlier in one of his Instagram posts. According to Penn‘s post, the whole incident—from Brittney Griner’s arrest to her release in exchange for Viktor Bout—can possibly be a pre-planned stunt. Moreover, ‘The Prodigy’ has now dug deeper into it as this controversial post elicited some questions from the fans. BJ went on to engage with the people under the post, responding to some of them with their queries and remarks.

Upon responding to the fans’ comments, BJ also made took a subtle jab at President Joe Biden, who played a pivotal role in bringing the WNBA star back from Russia.

There certainly are many people who believe the prison swap between Brittney Griner and Viktor Bout was a bad idea. And one of them is the former POTUS, Donald Trump, who feels this deal was an “embarrassment” for the country.

On his Truth Social website, Trump wrote, “What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for a man known as “The Merchant of Death,” who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries.”

He further added, “Why wasn’t former Marine Paul Whelan included in this totally one-sided transaction? He would have been let out for the asking. What a “stupid” and unpatriotic embarrassment for the USA!!!”

The homecoming of Brittney Griner has undoubtedly sparked debate and brought up some serious questions over its questionable conduct.
