The UFC boss, Dana White, is one of the most known faces, even to the general fans. Unlike other heads of organizations, White carries a very camera-friendly personality. He also boasts a massive following on his Instagram profile. The 53-year-old should be accredited for the revival of the UFC from its dark days. White has been in the UFC for a long time and has witnessed a lot of fighters gracing the Octagon, some of them even from the world of other combat sports.

But, it can be said that White’s experience of signing in famous faces from other combat sports into the UFC hasn’t been up to the mark. The UFC president made his intentions clear, stating that he would not vouch for the already famous ‘Logan and Jake Paul’ labeling them as ‘gimmicks’.

Dana White has already learned his lesson

The UFC had a tough time signing well-known individuals who had minimal to no MMA expertise. Due to the experience of signing Brock Lesnar and having quite some success with him, The WWE Superstar, CM Punk who had no prior professional or amateur MMA experience, was signed by the promotion back in 2016. Punk’s humongous popularity landed him a UFC debut in the main event of UFC 203.

But, the fight was a disaster as Punk was submitted by his opponent ‘Micky Gall’ within the first round itself. White also granted a second opportunity to Punk against Mike Jackson, but that fight too turned out to be a sluggish one, resulting in the defeat of Punk yet again.

White stated that “CM Punk would come to the fights and he was such a huge fan and he wanted to try this. I gave the guy a shot.” He also stated how he “regretted putting Michael Jackson in there” with CM Punk.

Jake and Logan Paul have gone on to become well-known names in combat sports. Although the two took distinct paths, they were already well-known as social media stars before transitioning to combat sports. The ‘Paul Brothers’ with a current net worth of $75 Million have been willing to step into the Octagon as well.

Dana White wouldn’t allow gimmicks like Jake and Logan Paul in UFC

Jake Paul had an online beef with White to gain the attention of the MMA community while Logan has also asked White, “If I wanted to do a UFC fight? Are you down with it?”

But White seemed to be reluctant to this offer but didn’t deny Logan Paul as he said, “I would never say never. I don’t know, I mean, I look at it sometimes. And it’s kind of intriguing, but it kind of goes against what I do. I really do bring the best of the best in. I’ve tried to do a couple of those celebrity things with some WWE guys. Some worked. Some didn’t.” This was probably due to the fact that he was on ‘The Pivot Podcast’ along with Logan Paul.

But White has vocalized his opinions loud and clear multiple times while responding to Jake Paul’s beef. White said, “Neither one of those guys can fight. It’s all a big gimmick. Like I said in a press conference, there’s a market for that. If people are dumb enough to spend their money watching that s***, I don’t know what to tell you. Good luck to them”.

White definitely had the idea why Jake Paul was getting into a beef with him. He said, “I get it. He’s trying to make some money and is doing his thing. There are people who want to spend money on that. I’m not that guy.” White was too wise to fall into Jake’s beef and do something as mindless as he did with CM Punk.

But White also stated, “But I wouldn’t say no. I did Mayweather/McGregor when I said I would never do it” on ‘The Pivot Podcast’. It’s also a known fact that White is always looking for new opportunities to grow his franchise. Hence, what the future beholds can never be predicted.

Do you think the UFC should sign the Paul brothers?
