During the show, Max discusses various topics, including the sneaker scene in his native Hawaii. He also issues a challenge to other UFC fighters, proposing a sneaker battle. Additionally, he shares his thoughts on Dwayne Johnson’s sneakers sponsored by the UFC.

While other fighters like Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera had some choice words to say about the shoes on the show, Max revealed what he thought about them and that he had an idea for the Rock to try.

Dwayne Johnson receives a sneaker idea for ‘Max Air’

While the shoes received mixed reactions from fans and fighters like Nate Diaz, Holloway expressed his own perspective and even proposed an idea for The Rock to consider.

When questioned about Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s UFC-sponsored sneakers, Holloway acknowledged his familiarity with Johnson. He expressed a positive opinion of both Johnson and his agents.

However, he proposed that The Rock’s sneaker venture should explore new possibilities by collaborating with MMA fighters in the octagon. Citing the recent release of the movie ‘Air’ as an example.

According to the story, the NBA fined Michael Jordan $5,000 for each instance of him wearing ‘Air Jordan’ shoes during their debut in 1984, as the colors violated the league’s uniform rules. The stunt actually cost Nike close to $500,000 for the entire NBA season!

Holloway encouraged The Rock and his team to embrace a fresh realm of creativity. And venture beyond the realm of Michael Jordan Nike sneakers.

Holloway further suggested, “I know you guys paid the fine for Jordan, pay the fine for me, let me use it for walkouts. I can do Max Air instead of Air Maxes, you know, flip it around, all that good stuff.”

He conveyed his enthusiasm for this idea, highlighting the potential for exciting collaborations and unique designs that merge the worlds of MMA and sneaker culture.

‘The Rock’s’ XFL project suffers a setback under new leadership

Under Johnson’s ownership, the XFL incurred losses of $60 million in its first year, leading to job cuts.
However, the league is projected to generate approximately $100 million in revenue for the upcoming season, indicating a more profitable future. One of its significant sources of income, about 25 percent, comes from ESPN, its broadcast partner.

Dany Garcia, XFL chair and Johnson’s long-time business partner, expressed confidence in the league’s financial stability, stating, “We’re extremely well-capitalized for the long-term.Garcia and Johnson, in collaboration with Disney and RedBird Capital, acquired the bankrupt XFL for $23.5 million in 2020.

As to whether The Rock will consider Holloway’s offer for a sneaker collaboration, only time will tell.
