Anderson Silva is a veteran MMA fighter and is one of the most dominating UFC champions in history. ‘The Spider’ retired from MMA back in October 2020 and has since been competing in various boxing events. Recently Silva faced Tito Ortiz at an exhibition boxing match on September 11, 2021.
‘The Spider’ won that fight comfortably as he defeated Ortiz via a 1st round KO. Ever since Silva has joined boxing, many fans are eagerly hoping for other MMA legends to join boxing. One such fighter is UFC legend Georges St-Pierre.

However, ‘GSP’ cannot compete anywhere except the UFC as he is still in contract with the company. And Silva has often talked about how he believes the UFC should release ‘GSP’ and allow him to compete elsewhere. ‘The Spider’ echoed his comments in a recent interview with The Mac Life.
He said, “I think Dana’s a businessman and, in my opinion, I think Dana doesn’t need to hold Georges St-Pierre. Give the life, no give the life to the guy back, you know, and just stop hold the guy. You don’t need it anymore this, especially George’s, there’s no fight left more in MMA. It’s no make sense you hold the guy, but you now.”

Silva believes that ‘GSP’ has given so much to the company and is sure to not make an MMA comeback. Dana White and the UFC should release the legendary fighter and allow him to compete in other platforms and events.
Anderson Silva believes a fight with Georges St-Pierre will be interesting
Boxing has recently become a new platform for legendary fighters to make a comeback and compete in super-fights. Therefore, many people were hoping to see a fight between St-Pierre and Silva in one such event. However, as ‘GSP’ is still in contract with the UFC, that fight could not happen.
I had a very interesting chat with Anderson Silva for the first episode of my Brazilian podcast Trocação Franca on his desire to box Georges S-Pierre and “almighty” Dana White “being annoying” and standing in the way. https://t.co/PHQVpr9bBP
