UFC 270 concluded with Francis Ngannou winning his bout and retaining his UFC belt. However, after Bruce Buffer announced the result, Mick Maynard presented Ngannou with his title. It was rather surprising, as Dana White is the one who usually wraps the belt around the waist of the champion.

As the UFC head honcho was in attendance during the co-headliner and presented Deiveson Figueiredo with his belt, his absence after the main event was surprising.

This bizarre show of emotions hints that things may indeed be bad between White and Ngannou. The Cameroonian and the UFC President have been at crossroads with each other on the fighter pay issue. Another factor for the snub could have been Ngannouā€™s demand for a boxing match add-on in his official UFC contract.

A loss for Ngannou would have meant the end of his current contract with the UFC. However, ā€˜The Predatorā€™ came out victorious due to the newfound wrestling skills he learned from UFC pound-for-pound #1 Kamaru Usman, who was also present in the champā€™s corner.

Interestingly, the UFC President skipped the post-fight interview as well.

Press asks Francis Ngannou about Dana White

As White wasnā€™t present, the Cameroonian became the go-to source for scoops on the Dana White vs. Francis Ngannou controversy. Members of the press asked Ngannou about the snub. They specifically questioned ā€˜The Predatorā€™ whether it was on his demand that Maynard was sent to present the belt.

However, Ngannou himself didnā€™t have any clue and told the press the same, ā€œI donā€™t know, you have to ask himā€¦ No, I did not have anything to do about that. That was their decision.ā€
