Ilia Topuria has done what he promised his fans. The featherweight division got its new king, and it seems like Topuria’s dream to have a match at Real Madrid’s home ground, Santiago Bernabeu, is closer to reality. ‘El Matador’ has repeatedly asserted that he would sell out the 81,000-capacity Bernabeu stadium if he fought there, and it seems like Dana White has now taken notice of Topuria’s demands.

‘El Matador’s masterclass knockout against Alexander Volkanovski was the highlight of the UFC 298 event. Topuria promised a war and for sure he delivered it. Dana White has now taken an interest in Topuria’s request to have a match at the Spanish heartland, Santiago Bernabeu.

Ilia Topuria will keep his undefeated status after dethroning ‘Volk’ at UFC 298. Well, seems like the Georgian-Spaniard now has the privilege to demand where he wants to fight, and at the top of his list is Santiago Bernabeu. Not so long ago, Topuria claimed that he would sell out the entire stadium within a matter of five minutes if the UFC arranged a fight there.

The claim might be a bit far-fetched for many, but for the multi-millionaire CEO, Topuria might have some truth in his words after his recent victory. At the UFC 298 presser, Dana White was asked by a Spanish journalist about his opinion about a UFC event in Spain. The UFC CEO stated that he sees nothing wrong with that.

“Yeah, we are definitely going to Spain. Who he is going to face, we don’t know yet. I have a lot of respect for Volkanovski; we will see how that plays out. But as long as there’s a venue, we are going to Spain. I like it (when asked about Santiago Bernabéu),” said Dana White at the UFC 298 presser.
