

UFC San Antonio saw the inclusion of former lightweight ‘Cowboy’ Donald Cerrone in the UFC Hall of Fame. The 39-year-old was jubilant yet emotional when it was announced that he would be joining a prestigious class that includes the likes of Jens Pulver and Jose Aldo. Moreover, Cerrone will be inducted into the modern wing of the hall.
Speaking about Cerrone’s induction, UFC president Dana White stated, “Cowboy Cerrone is one of the best lightweights in UFC history.” Further adding, “He is a true legend, and it will be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of International Fight Week.”

Dana White made a sweet gesture for Donald Cerrone
After much-deserved induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, the Colorado native got a befitting place for the announcement. The news of the induction was announced at UFC San Antonio and to Cerrone’s surprise, his family was brought to the show. As revealed in the post-event interview, Dana White said that the UFC planned the surprise. Additionally, White also stated that Cerrone had absolutely no idea about the induction or his family being there.

Cerrone’s grandmother was also expected to be at the event but could not be present owing to her health condition. Furthermore, White revealed they were planning to fly her in with EMT. As reported by a tweet by Aaron Bronsteter, “White says that they flew Cowboy’s family in without him knowing and they tried to fly his grandmother in, but she couldn’t come for health reasons. They almost had an EMT fly with her to make it happen.”

Donald Cerrone to appear in a movie alongside Chael Sonnen and Quinton Jackson
The newly inducted UFC Hall of Famer is also set to make strides on the big screen soon. ‘Cowboy’ is set to star in ‘Mojave Diamonds’ alongside UFC veterans like ‘Rampage’ and Chael Sonnen. Cerrone also shared a trailer for the movie in a recent post on social media.
