Retired UFC double champion, Daniel Cormier has been beefing with another retired UFC superstar, Nate Diaz. The two have been going back and forth on Social Media taking jabs at one another right after Diaz showed interest in headlining the UFC 306 card.

Daniel Cormier believed that Nate Diaz, despite being a good fighter, doesn’t hold a resume to headline the UFC 306 card. This led Diaz to post a story on his Instagram account calling the former double champion a “b***h”. Cormier didn’t take kindly to Diaz’s comments as he went on a rant, which led a lot of fans to throw shade towards the former double champion.

Daniel Cormier on a recent YouTube video went at Nate Diaz for calling him a “B**”. He went on to state that he would not sit there and compare himself to the former UFC veteran given that he had accomplished more in the sport. He stated, “it’s different levels. Much different. I’m a champion. Two weight classes… We are on much different wavelengths, we are on much different planets. We are not in the same stratosphere in terms of fighters. We’re not. And it’s time for me to stop allowing people to attack or come at me in these ways when I’m doing my job.”

Nate Diaz fans didn’t take kindly to DC’s comments about the 38-year-old. Here are some of the comments from a post that quoted both their statements.

One fan discredited DC’s title wins by stating that Cormier only won the UFC titles because his rival, Jon Jones was suspended;

“Dc won a belt because iones was suspended a n he fought in a division n a time where there was no competition. Diaz is the opposite fought in a more competitive division. DC had a cake walk to a belt”

Another said that DC only sold good PPV numbers when he was feuding with “Bones”;

“Except the only way DC was a draw is when he was fighting JBJ.”

Another stated that people can’t deny that Diaz is a star;

“Nate Is a star can’t deny that”

One more fan stated that DC wouldn’t have a title if Jon Jones had been a “good boy”;

“If Jon was a good boy, DC wouldn’t have any titles”

Another fan wrote a long paragraph explaining why Diaz was a better entertainer than DC;

“Lol DC becoming a professional hater. The truth is that when Barclays center had Poirier vs Nate Diaz it was sold out in an instant. When it got replaced with DC defending the belt the Barclays offered everyone refunds and apologized before the show. DC the better fighter but this is an entertainment industry and Nate Diaz is verv much on DCs level and wav beyond when it comes to stardom and having the die hards support. He will always be loved but this whole comment was very unnecessary and now he’s doing the Ariel crybaby shit once someone calls him out on it”

One person called the former double champion annoying;

“DC is annoyin now”

A fan claimed Cormier deserved the backlash he was getting from fight fans;

“Dc talks way too much. That’s what he deserves. Now he’s crying again when called out.”

The fans certainly seem to be backing the Stockton native on their feud. But what did the former retired double champ say that started it all in the first place?

DC during a recent YouTube video on his channel, explained that despite being a fan of Nate Diaz, he does really believe that he should headline the UFC 306 main event. He claimed that other fighters are more deserving than the Stockton Native to headline the event at the sphere.

Cormier went on to state, “Will I watch him on the pay-per-view card? Absolutely. But to be the headliner, with all these great fighters that are deserving of that spot? I don’t think so. I don’t need to see that.”
