Despite Booking Jon Jones for a Vegas Event, Dana White Remains Firm on His Past Comment “It’s Hard to Bring This Guy to Las Vegas for Any Reason”

Jon Jones has been one of the most controversial champions in the UFC. The former UFC lightweight always found himself in problems outside the octagon. Moreover, the city of Las Vegas seems to be bringing problems for the controversial UFC Legend. Furthermore, Dana White also believes that the city of Las Vegas is ‘not good’ for Jon Jones. Recently, White reaffirmed his stance on the topic and backed his statements from his earlier interview. However, despite all the controversies surrounding ‘Bones’ in Las Vegas, Dana White has booked the venue for his return at UFC 285 with his new physique.

Dana White backs his earlier statement regarding Jon Jones and Las Vegas

Jon Jones had a very bad experience in Las Vegas. The former light heavyweight champion has found himself getting in a lot of trouble in the city. Furthermore, Dana White has also seconded the audiences’ thoughts in saying Las Vegas isn’t a good venue for ‘Bones’.

A reporter asked in an interview after UFC Vegas 67 whether Dana White still thinks the same thing about Jones and Vegas. The UFC President added, “You said, I can’t remember it was last year or the year before with regard to Jon Jones that Las Vegas isn’t good for him and because of his previous misdemeanors. Do you think it would be good for him on March 4th.”

Dana White reaffirmed his stand on the opinion, “What do I think about it? I still think the same thing. Yeah, I agree that it’s not good.” White would be hoping that Jones does not get into any trouble before the fight against Gane.

Jon Jones had a mixed night in September 2021. He got inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame and also got arrested for alleged domestic violence between hours.

Dana White, in an interview after UFC 266 after Jon Jones’ arrest, made a comment on Jones and Vegas. He said, “I don’t know. Obviously we’ll see how this plays out legally and where this ends up going… It’s hard to bring this guy to Las Vegas for any reason. The city is not good for Jon Jones. And here we are again.”
