This retired UFC fighter does not look so retired anymore. Fan favorite Luke Rockhold is making a comeback! He is all set for his plan with a 2023 return. The ex-UFC fighter had made an official retirement announcement. This was back after his last match fighting Paulo Costa in UFC 278. After getting defeated in the co-main event, Rockhold confirmed his stance on his MMA career. The announcement broke a lot of people’s hearts. However, it looks like the old champ is not done with his warrior life after all.

The 38-year-old fighter confirmed his retirement in August ‘22 after a match gone in vain. Since then, fans had no hopes to see him back in the octagon. That’s why the post has given some fans a sense of joy while others want him to stay retired.

As soon as the 38-year-old announced his return, the mania surged through the fans. Rockhold posted a picture of him being ‘fight-ready’, with an interesting caption. In the Instagram post, Rockhold was in his training attire, with the caption, “Putting the old rig to the test. 2023 could get interesting.

Luke Rockhold’s on-and-off relationship with the UFC

The ex-UFC fighter sat retired for the latter half of 2022. In his last emotional speech, Rockhold couldn’t hold back his tears. The fighter emotional due to his retirement thanked everyone. He began by thanking his fans and the UFC and expressed his gratitude for Joe Rogan as well. However, Rockhold decided to flip the coin one day. The UFC pro announced his arrival back in the game. It looks like the American fighter has had enough of a break.
