T.J. Dillashaw is all set to return to action for the first time since 2019. The former bantamweight champion will be facing Cory Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 32. In his last fight Dillashaw faced Henry Cejudo for the Flyweight title, the fighter lost that fight via a 1st round TKO.
Later that year, Dillashaw had to vacate his bantamweight title because he failed a drug test. After Dillashaw vacated the title, it changed hands a couple of times before reaching Aljamain Sterling. Now Sterling is expected to face Petr Yan in a UFC Bantamweight title fight really soon.
Dillashaw had to vacate his title, and never actually lost it. Therefore, the fighter expects to defeat Sandhagen and challenge for the title soon. However, before that, the fighter must wait and see what happens between Sterling and Yan.

During a recent interview, Dillashaw was speaking about their fight. He said, “I agree with you that the wrestling should beat him, but Aljamain has no striking. If you watch all of his fights, okay I would say no, it’s hard for me to say, he’s the UFC champion right now.”
“But if you watch his fights, he mainly only throws kicks, he’s got no confidence in his hands. And if you don’t pack a punch, how are going t take this guy down. If you can’t crack him, it’s a lot harder to take him down.”

Dillashaw clearly thinks that Sterling’s striking abilities are not strong enough to take down Yan. However, the fighter believes that Sterling is a champion for a reason and is a great fighter.

However, the first obstacle in Dillashaw’s way is Sandhagen, ‘The Sandman’ will come into the fight on the back of 2 consecutive victories. Therefore Sandhagen will certainly be the more confident fighter going into this fight.
