“I Bet You Money…” Demi Lovato, Who Once Dated an Ex-UFC Champion, Told Media What ‘Impresses’ Her the Most About Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey, the former UFC bantamweight champion, is inarguably one of the greatest female athletes in the sport. She was one of the pioneers of women’s MMA who had an amazing run in the UFC.
During the peak of her career, ‘Rowdy’ was so famous that even people from the entertainment industry recognized her work. One of them was the famous American singer Demi Lovato.

The Mexican singer who had a connection with UFC – given she dated former champion Luke Rockhold, back in 2016 – was always complimentary about the women’s bantamweight fighter.

While talking about Rousey in an interview, Lovato said, “I remember going to a fighter and saying, ‘I bet you money that the fight will be short enough to put on Instagram’. It was, and she did. The guys around me were like, ‘are you joking?’ and I was like, ‘no joke’. What impresses me most about Ronda is, she’s a good role model.”
To express her respect for the legendary combat athlete, Lovato even gave her a spot in one of her songs. She included, “Knock ’em all out, beat ’em like Rousey,” in her song ‘Star’ from the ‘Confident’ album in 2015.
Later, Rousey expressed she was honored to receive a shout-out from the singer. Moreover, the Mexican-born artist has shown her support for the former UFC women’s champion by posting about her on social media several times.

‘Rowdy’ had a glorious career in one of the world’s biggest MMA promotions, UFC. She received praise from all around the world for her dominant stint in the sport.
However, it didn’t last long for the American wrestler. In 2015, at UFC 193, Rousey suffered her first ever UFC setback against former boxing champion Holly Holm. She got defeated in the second round of the bout.

After these two losses, ‘Rousey’ never competed in MMA.
