Nurmagomedov is an ardent soccer fan. He religiously follows soccer and plays it in his free time. Recently, the 33-year-old attended the home game of Manchester United at Old Trafford in England. During his visit, ‘The Eagle’ met some celebrities behind the scenes, including Usain Bolt, Patrice Evra, and Sir Alex Ferguson.

During their meet, the ex-manager of Manchester United offered ‘The Eagle’ a drink. However, Nurmagomedov, a pious believer of Islam, refused the drink with a witty reply.

The Dagestan native later recalled the funny scenario at a conference. Nurmagomedov said, Even today when I was in Old Trafford, I was with Patrice Evra, it was Usain Bolt, it was Sir Alex Ferguson, and Alex Ferguson asked me about wine. For him, it is good. You know I don’t judge him, but how I have to explain him. There is two things, you can be straight and I said ‘no no no, I’m Muslim, I never drink.”

He added, “But other things I told him this is not good because if I drink, I can smash all of you guys. This is not a good idea for me. Being Muslim it’s not easy but same time you don’t have to make this tough. Just be a good person and show them you are Muslim and that’s it. And I think Usain Bolt and Patrice Evra they understand, but Sir Alex Ferguson understands because he don’t want I smash everybody and he said okay. He said don’t drink wine.”
