Ronda Rousey can easily go down as the front-runner of Woman’s MMA. ‘Rowdy’, changed the perception of women’s fights being slow and boring. Furthermore, she brought excitement and eyeballs to the sport with her elite fighting skills and charismatic personality.

However, for one of the biggest stars in the world of MMA, not every day has been bright and sunny. The Judoka had seen a fair share of adversities throughout her life as well. Whether it was losing a family member or battling depression, Rousey has overcome it all.

In an interview, she also made a revelation that left the fans in shock. The former bantamweight queen talked about a phase in her life where she had struggled financially. However, it was at that very moment that she decided to take up MMA. Let’s know what was it that she was specifically talking about.

Ronda Rousey was homeless for a week

Rowdy revealed in the interview that there was a phase in her life where he went homeless and had to live in her car for a week. The interviewer asked Rousey, “You lived in your car?”

To which the former UFC bantamweight champion replied, “For a week or so once, yeah, after judo, before MMA. And I realized I couldn’t let that situation ever happen again because what would my dog do? It put pressure on me to succeed when I was responsible for another living thing.”

Rousey also talked about her dog, who was one of the biggest influences that motivated her to take up MMA and change her life for good. Furthermore, she could see her pet suffering and not let such a situation arise again.

She’s a true inspiration for her fans

Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that Rowdy never looked back once she joined MMA and ultimately became one of the biggest stars in the entire history of MMA. The former bantamweight turned into a dominant champion and a force to be reckoned with.

Meanwhile, there’s also no doubt that she’s one of the biggest reasons for bringing woman’s fighting into the mainstream.

Although her career didn’t end on the note that she would have liked and, furthermore, had adverse effects on her mental health. However, like everything in life, Rousey went past that phase, setting an example for her fans.
