Millions around the world love the American MMA legend, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. He began his fighting career back in 1999 when MMA was not yet famous as a sport. He stood for his passion and became successful in earning a big name in the MMA world. Rampage is indeed one of the important figures; he helped popularize the sport all around the globe. His most recent bout was at Bellator MMA; however, Jackson’s fighting career was at its peak when he was fighting in the UFC.

He became the UFC light heavyweight champion and was popular for his eccentric behavior. The crowd became huge fans of his aggressive fighting style. His son, Raja Jackson, has taken his first steps into the world of combat sports. However, the 44-year-old father feels that his son does not want to make it big in MMA as much as Rampage wanted it at his age.

Quinton Jackson was talking to Paddy Pimblett. In the video uploaded by ‘The Baddy’, Jackson is seen sharing his concerns regarding his son’s fighting career. Rampage said, “My son’s in the right place but I just get on him all the time because I just don’t feel like he want it bad enough because you know when I started fighting, MMA was different. It wasn’t popular.”

You did it for the love and you was hungry and you wanted to prove your skills better than the next man’s skills and the sport has changed tremendously since then.” Rampage’s son Raja Jackson already has tried his hands at amateur fights and his record stands at 3-o.”

The hardships faced by Rampage

Talking further on the topic, Rampage described how his son was born with all the comforts that he does not have to fight for his life. However, Rampage came from a different background where he had to earn a living through fighting. Jackson detailed the hard life he had, “I had to sacrifice and was broke when I first started fighting Japan.”

He added, “I left everything back home, left my job everything and so I had to make it right so he don’t have to make it you know saying he live a comfortable life so I’m just saying I don’t know if his drive is as strong as my drive was back when I was his age but I can say this at 22 years old he’s a better fighter than I was at 22.”

In the interview with Pimblett, Rampage, indeed, talked like a personality who raised MMA to greater heights. Jackson was of the pioneers of the sport and add a lot to the history of MMA; right from the history behind his famous nickname to his great record, he has been a great addition to the sport.
