UFC fan favorite Paddy Pimblett will look to make it three in a row for 2022 this weekend at UFC 282. ‘The Baddy’ will face a tough opponent in Jared Gordon as he steps into the cage for the co-main event. While the Scouser gets a lot of attention and hype in the lead-up to his fights, it’s a little different this time around. Pimblett hosted UFC president Dana White on his podcast recently. A specific part of their conversation, discussing leading MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, is now doing rounds on the internet. The fighter didn’t have much good to say about Helwani.

White and Pimblett got together for a special preview of UFC 282 on Pimblett’s show ‘Chatting Pony.’ White gave his own breakdown of the UFC 282 main card, recapped UFC Orlando, and discussed Jiri Prochazka‘s injury, among other things. However, the controversial rant on Helwani has become the highlight of the show since the episode aired.

Then he accused Helwani of earning money off of UFC fighters and then damaging the promotion’s reputation. He also had a bone to pick with the Canadian reporter for maligning the UFC president’s name for fighter pay-related issues.

“Ariel Helwani in particular. He loves earning money off fighters. Like every decent job he’s had, he’s been sacked from. And now he’s just a biased content creator. He hates on you, hates on the UFC, even hates on me now and it proper annoys me because he uses fighters for clicks, users fighters for money. And then has the audacity to talk about the UFC, and yourself saying that they don’t pay the fighters enough.”

Pimblett’s rant on Helwani did not end there. The Liverpool native stood his ground that Helwani made money off fighters and asked him to start paying people for interviews.

‘The Baddy’ asked Helwani to pay for interviews

Paddy Pimblett said that because he made money off YouTube, he knew how much Helwani was making from his interviews on YouTube. Calling out Helwani’s double standards, Pimblett said the longtime MMA journalist was lining his own pocket.

“Get your dough out, Ariel. You know what I mean? Start paying people for these interviews, right? You make thousands and thousands and thousands of pounds. I know that now because I make money off YouTube. So I know how much he gains off YouTube off all his interviews that he does. ‘I’m doing it for exposure.’ No, you’re not. You’re doing it to put money in your pocket, Ariel, you little rodent. Rat.”

The UFC president just sat back and let Pimblett finish his rant about Helwani. At the end of it, he applauded and concurred with everything Pimblett said. It is common knowledge within the MMA community that there is no love lost between Helwani and White.
