At UFC 263, UFC fans witnessed an intriguing middleweight title clash between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori. The pair stepped inside the octagon for the second time to finally settle their score. Adesanya explained how dog psychology helped him with his third title defense.
Adesanya and Vettori had gone back and forth for a long time on various occasions. One such occasion includes the UFC 263 press conference.
The pair had multiple heated arguments at the pre-fight press conference. There was a moment where Vettori lost his temper and just wanted to hit Adesanya. Meanwhile, ‘The Last Style Bender’ appeared calm and was enjoying that moment.

In the UFC 263 post-fight press conference, the interviewer asked Adesanya about the pre-fight press conference- precisely the moment where Vettori lost his temper. It is where Adesanya explained how dog psychology helped him.
‘The Last Style Bender’ said – “Shout out to my guy Ryan from ‘Good Dog and Z’. He has been helping me coz I have been busy, you know. So, he has been helping me with two fleas. One of my dog who isn’t as social coz I didn’t have the time to take her out of the stuff. So, it kinda reinvigorated my love for dog psychology”
“And watching the way dog interacts the way they use their body posture to communicate. And mark the essence and use the anal gland to leave scents into each other’s faces. It’s weird, dogs do it, look it up, google. Working with him has helped me remind myself of how I used to do that all the time. I read people like coloring books, so easy”.
Israel Adesanya Moves Closer to Breaking Anderson Silva’s Record
Israel Adesanya didn’t feel threatened by Marvin Vettori
Vettori only had a few moments in the fight by scoring few takedowns. However, Adesanya showed great takedown defense. Besides those few moments, the fight was all Adesanya, as he worked Vettori by dominating him with multiple leg kicks.
Those leg kicks slowed down Vettori’s takedown attempts. In the end, Adesanya secured a unanimous decision victory as all three judges scored the contest 50-45 in his favor.

Right from the start of the UFC 263 pre-fight press conference to the end of the fight, Adesanya never feared Vettori.
In the UFC 263 post-fight press conference, Adesanya also talked about him not being threatened by Vettori.

The Champ said – “When he finally broke, I was like ‘Yes’. I didn’t move a muscle because he is not a threat. He doesn’t pose a threat to me even tonight when he had my back. Like I said, he wasn’t a threat to me”.
Israel Adesanya proved that he is one of the greatest UFC middleweight champions at UFC 263. He dominated Vettori at UFC 263 and he plans to do the same against his future opponents.
