“I Watch Him Train”: Stipe Miocic Says He’s Very Impressed with Jake Paul

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul will fight Tommy Fury on December 18 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic gave his opinion on JP. Jake Paul and Stipe Miocic both hail from the same place, Cleveland, Ohio.
The 39-year-old heavyweight is currently on a break following his loss to Francis Ngannou in UFC 260. He is enjoying his life with his family and also hosting a podcast of his own.

During an interview on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, he got asked about his views on the young fighter. Stipe seemed to hold Jake in high regard. Miocic stated, “He is just a regular guy, his motivation, what he likes, what he wants to do, his goals. He’s a good dude. He’s from Cleveland as well, but like just talking him to more, you like him even more.”
Further, Helwani questioned whether Stipe respects his fighting skills, to which he replied, “Oh yeah, definitely, he’s getting better, he got a tough fight against Fury but he listens to his coaches, I watch him train, he does everything he’s supposed to, which, you know, is great.”

While shying away from predicting who will win the Fury vs Paul fight by saying, “I’m not a matchmaker” the former Golden Gloves boxing winner seems to be impressed by Paul’s training and hard work. When asked about seeing JP’s train, Miocic replied, “He’s doing a lot of good stuff”
Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury is set for December 18
Jake Paul is set to fight his fifth pro fight next month. ‘The Problem Child’ is on a four-win streak after recently defeating Tyron Woodley. He believes that he’s the best thing that ever happened to the sport of boxing. Many critics still refuse to believe his fighting skills, claiming he only fights non-boxers. Tommy Fury will be his toughest opponent yet.

Tommy Fury, with his explosive power and his proper training, can become a serious threat to JP. He is currently on a 7 win streak after making his victorious American debut against Anthony Taylor. However, ‘TNT’ has also been accused of not fighting serious fighters and only selecting fights against below-average skill-level fighters.
