UFC London surpassed all the expectations and was one of the best UFC Fight Night events in the history of UFC. Hence, the UFC President Dana White presented a record 9 performance bonuses. However, one of the best stories that came out of the UFC London event was the Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria’s rivalry.

The two young, exciting prospects performed exceptionally and got the wins on Saturday. However, before the event, the two appeared to focus on each other more than their opponents. Likewise, both the fighters used the microphone after the fight to call each other out. Though Topuria was clear in his approach, Pimblett choose the dismissive tone.

‘El Matador’ shared his frustration with Pimblett downplaying the fight.

“Never, never ever, I don’t think so. Maybe if Dana stays with him with a gun, maybe yes. And they force him to go inside the cage with me, maybe. Otherwise, I don’t think so. I don’t think he has the b**ls to fight me.,” Topuria said when asked whether Pimblett will accept a fight against him.

Climent Club fighter emphasized he doesn’t care about the weight division for this fight and would accept a fight with the Scouser even if he misses the weight. It would be interesting to see what UFC President Dana White decides for both these fighters.

A win over Paddy Pimblett will be huge for Ilia Topuria

The Liverpudlian is making a lot of noise in the UFC. With only two UFC fights under his belt, he has shown the potential to be the next big thing in the UFC. However, despite his two finishes, he faced an adversary in both the fights. Also, factoring in the level of opponents he has fought, Topuria seems like a bad matchup for ‘The Baddy’.

Subsequently, for Topuria, a matchup against Pimblett, and a win, would be a big triumph in terms of the spotlight. Topuria has already shown his potential in his small UFC career.
