Anthony Smith submitted Ryan Spann in the first round of their fight at UFC Fight Night Smith vs Spann this weekend. ‘Lionheart’ has now put together a 3-fight winning streak at the light-heavyweight division of the UFC. He was visibly charged up at his post-fight interview as well. Smith proceeded to call out Aleksandar Rakic for a rematch in his post-fight interview next.

I’m so f*cking sick of being sh*t done over all the time. It’s like Anthony Smith sucks, he only beats old guys. Now they are not ranked high enough. I’m out here beating whoever the f*ck they put in front of me. I don’t make those f*cking decisions,” said Smith while chatting with Michael Bisping.

I want Aleksandar Rakic. He’s just sitting around. He’s not next for the title. Either I get that fight or I’m gonna skip it. That’s what I want. I want someone ahead of me. I earned that,” he added.

Rakic kept an eye on how things unfolded last night, as well as there were some major names in his division in action. He tweeted out, immediately accepting Smith’s call out.

I’m free in December @Mickmaynard2,” tweeted ‘Rocket’ letting the UFC matchmakers know that he is interested in fighting Smith for a second time.

Smith was also involved in a scuffle with Ryan Spann after his win. ‘Lionheart’ demanded the respect he deserves for his name for his body of work in recent times.

Smith and Rakic collided at the main event of a UFC Fight Night card in July of last year. The Austrian came out victorious that time, earning a decision in his favor. He has since bettered Thiago Santos inside the Octagon. However, he has been inactive for a while and it makes sense to match up the two high-ranked light-heavyweights next.

It will be interesting to see if the UFC indeed makes the fight official. Given the style of both fighters, fans can expect an intriguing clash if they are matched up yet again.
