“The Irish have been starved”: Conor McGregor’s compatriot Ian Garry makes bold predictions for himself as he promises “to bring UFC back to Ireland”

Conor McGregor-inspired fighter from Ireland, Ian Garry has had a relatively short career in MMA but he has been able to make his mark in that short period. The Irishman took up MMA at the age of 10 inspired by Conor McGregor and trained in Judo to become a black belt. His professional debut came at the age of 21 and he went on to win the welterweight championship at Cage warriors. He has been unbeaten in his short UFC stint with his latest victory coming at UFC 285 against Song Kenan. Kenan was knocked out by Garry in the 3rd round. The win was his 11th consecutive victory. Garry has now revealed his plans for the year.
In a recent interview with Petesy Carroll, Garry shared his plans for the next twelve months. The plans he shared may appear ambitious to a lot of fans but Garry looked confident. Garry said he wanted to bring UFC back to Ireland. He also mentioned how he wanted to be an undercard with his childhood idol.

Ian Garry wants to fight Jorge Masvidal
Talking on the Ariel Helwani channel on YouTube, Garry said, He was very confident and excited going into his next fight against Daniel Rodriguez. Garry expressed how he wanted to take UFC back to Dublin and fight as an undercard with Conor McGregor who is supposed to fight Michael Chandler sometime near the end of this year. He said, “Hey, I know what’s happening. You had me say it to Dana, The Irish have been starved of a UFC return, I am going to bring UFC back to Ireland. I am gonna make it happen. I am gonna be the headline fight. I promise it’s coming. It will be against someone huge like it will be a fight on the Conor card and I will fight a guy that’s just outside that top 15 that’s exciting”

Garry also revealed a name that he wanted to fight against in Dublin. He said, “Then I’ll fight one of the guys like if Burns beats Masvidal give me Masvidal in Dublin, give me Masvidal in Dublin. Give me him, why not? I am far too fuc**** fast for him.”

Ian Garry names his training partners

Ian Garry looked confident in his abilities. The secret behind the confidence came out when Garry named his training partners. Despite being fairly new in the sport, Ian Garry trains with the likes of welterweight champion Leon Edwards and Shavkat Rakhmanov.
He said he trains with Edwards when he is in the UK and sharpens his wrestling acumen with Dagestani powerhouse Rakhmanov. Only time will tell if Garry will be able to fight Jorge Masvidal as an undercard to Dublin’s best. Fans will have to wait and see if Ian Garry can emerge as a future prospect.
