Former UFC strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, took to Instagram recently to post a picture of her gruesome shin injury. Jedrzejczyk had her shin busted open, and she attributed it to one of the many pains of being a professional fighter.
“So you wanna be a Fighter?🙈 #imnotamodel #imafighter ⬅️ SWIPE left at your own risk 🚑 The good thing is that I can be back to training tomorrow morning😃 Big thanks to surgeon Bartek Maminski and @damianosmash for a quick and great hospitality on ER👨🏼⚕️🏥 @kamiliwanczyk we will be back!✊🏼#gohardorgohome #imafighter #stillpretty #iamnotamodel #ufc #wmma,” wrote Jedrzejczyk.

This is not the first time Jedrzejczyk has suffered an injury like that. In fact, fans must remember the ballooned-up state of her face during her epic war against another former champion, Zhang Weili, at UFC 248. That was Joanna’s last appearance inside the Octagon.
Zhang recently lost her belt to Rose Namajunas at UFC 261. Namajunas also happens to be Jedrzejczyk’s former opponent. So, it’s understandable that the Polish fighter might be gunning for a third shot at ‘Thug’. But it seems likely that Namajunas will face Zhang next in a rematch, as the latter will come in with the fire of vengeance.
Nevertheless, fans can only hope that Jedrzejczyk heals up from her injury as soon as possible. This won’t impact her preparation for her next fight, as she already wrote that she will be back in training soon.

Jedrzejczyk is a legend of the sport and was undefeated in her career until her first loss to Namajunas. But she has lost a bit of momentum recently, losing 4 out of her last 6 matches. A win against Michelle Waterson in 2019 was her last triumph inside the Octagon.
Regardless, one can expect her to be next in line for the belt, given her accolades throughout her career. But if Zhang and Namajunas rematches, the Polish might have to look elsewhere for an opponent.
