Patrick Carney mentioned that the island, located in South Carolina, was full of monkeys who carry herpes diseases. The species of monkey on that island is a species of Old World monkey, called the rhesus monkey. “Have you heard of this place? It’s like 5 miles from where I was just at. It’s filled up with Rhesus monkeys that all have herpes,” Carney added.

The Black Keys member further went on to ask Joe Rogan if he knew that, which the JRe host claimed to have heard about. Rogan stated, “Oh, I have heard of this.” Carney then also explained how authorities control Morgan Island. Let’s have a look at that front.

No entry in Morgan Island

Given that there are a lot of monkeys on Morgan Island, authorities often visit the island on helicopters to drop off some food for the animals. However, it is not advised to visit the island on foot. Patrick Carney further stated, “They feed them by dropping sh*t from a helicopter. If you go to the Island, you have to quarantine for months.”

After listening to Carney’s story, Joe Rogan came to the conclusion that islands are sketchy places. He believes that islands are places where bad things happen often. Rogan said, “Oh my God! Nothing good happens on Islands. If someone has a private Island, there’s nothing good happening on that Island. Any story sounds so much sketchier if it’s on an island.”
