“Justin Gaethje is the Scariest Guy That I’ve Ever Fought” – Michael Chandler

Michael Chandler will enter the octagon for his third fight in the UFC at UFC 268. He will go up against the former UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
It is a fight MMA fans are excited about because they know both fighters have an aggressive style. It will be a dangerous matchup for both as Chandler and Gaethje, both possess the power to knock out their opponents. Chandler in a recent interview with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto talked about the upcoming fight and what he thinks of his opponent.
In the interview, he said, “I will say, I think Justin Gaethje is the scariest guy that I’ve ever fought. He’s the craziest guy I’ve ever fought. I fought some very tough guys in the past, but he by far takes the cake. So, there’s that little bit of added intrigue to it.”

“Really, it just wakes me up a little bit earlier in the morning. It helps me go a couple of extra rounds, be a little bit more focused in my preparation because I know this guy ain’t going away quickly. I know what he wants to do inside that octagon, he’s done it 20 something times before,” he added.
Both lightweights know that they’re in for a tough fight come November 6. Gaethje has also talked about Chandler being a dangerous opponent, so it will be interesting to see how the fight goes.

Michael Chandler vs. Justin Gaethje -A number one contender fight?
The fight between the two is important for them. They both are coming off losses in their previous fights and would like to get back in the winning column. Chandler, after getting an impressive debut, win in the UFC against Dan Hooker, lost the UFC lightweight title fight against Charles Oliveira. He would like to use his explosiveness early against a proven fighter like Gaethje to get the win.
Gaethje, on the other hand, is coming off a loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov. ‘The Highlight‘ entered the fight as the interim champ but got dominated by ‘The Eagle’. He lost the fight via a triangle choke in the second round.

Gaethje, in an interview at UFC Unfiltered, acknowledged the fight is difficult. In the interview, he said, “With knocking Dan Hooker out and having a great fight against Charles Oliveira, he has proven that he belongs here. This is a huge fight, a dangerous fight. He’s super explosive, athletic. He’s dangerous.”
Fans are hoping that this fight is an all-out war. A win for any of the fighters will surely bring them back in the title picture. Many believe this fight is for the number 1 contender spot. With both fighters ready to go, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
