Justin Gaethje took a long hiatus from the octagon after suffering a loss in his lightweight title battle against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254. However, the 32-year-old will soon return to action in one of the biggest fights of his UFC career. Ahead of his return, ‘The Highlight’ gave an update on his training camp and also talked about his new chef and diet plan.
‘The Highlight’, in interaction with Brett Okamoto of ESPN, said, “It’s been a great camp. Getting skinny. You know it’s the getting skinny part, so yeah it’s. I have a chef now, so I’m actually enjoying this part a little more than the past times.”

When asked what prompted him to get a chef, he added, “I just kept taking too long after my workouts to get nutrition back into me. So it’s I thought I was eating healthy the whole time, but it turns out I was not eating healthy. She’s substituting all sugar for like mom fruit and coconut sugar and soon she’ll take all my sugar. But yeah, that’s I never. You know I have always just figured out I would eat unprocessed food and that was the way to go.”

“But you know there are a couple of extra tricks in there. She’s a holistic nutritionist. She runs a wellness center. And she designs the menu and the food for the whole place, so it’s cool. It’s good to have. Her point is she’s gonna give me everything that I love to eat but by substituting and by getting the flavor there.”
Justin Gaethje will look to get another title shot
‘The Highlight’ is a prominent name in the lightweight division of UFC. With a professional fighting record of 22-3, the former interim UFC lightweight champion is considered one of the best fighters in the division.
He will look to justify that tag by charting a path to an undisputed title shot, starting from his return fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 268.
