“When my father was in my corner, it was so much more easy, I could feel that energy, I could feel some power, an aura. I don’t know how to explain it. Even in this fight, when he was in my corner, the fight with Poirier. The choke that Poirier wanted to perform to me. I heard him, even if there were thousands of people, I hear his voice when he is yelling.”

“I had such an experience when I was hearing just his voice. Even I remember when he started to choke, ‘I was thinking: ‘ Maybe he thinks he will strangle me now or do something else, or I am going to give up.’ I have father two meters away, he always teached me not to give up, but he thinks ‘ I will’ I had such thoughts in my head.”

However, the fighter did not want to compete without his father in his corner and hence stepped away from the sport.
