However, he is now recovered fully. The undefeated prospect is itching to get back in action and to his usual regime for smashing people. “I’m fighting in August 170 lb September 185 lb November 170 lb December 185 lb be ready إن شاء الله. @danawhite @Mickmaynard2 @seanshelby,” he wrote in his recent post. This type of activity is not unusual for him. He has shown during his 3 fight run in the UFC that he is willing to take on any comer, any place, any weight.
Chimaev last fought veteran Gerald Meerschaert. ‘Borz’ earned a sensational 17-second knockout against GM3. Rhys McKee and John Phillips have been his other two victims inside the Octagon.
Chimaev was scheduled to fight cream of the crop welterweight contender Leon Edwards in his fourth assignment inside the Octagon. However, COVID affected both fighters since that booking. After multiple cancelations and re-bookings of the contest, the UFC scratched the fight altogether.
Who should Khamzat Chimaev face upon his return to the Octagon?

There won’t be a shortage of opponents for ‘Borz‘ once he is ready to return to action. And judging by his current plans, the UFC will need to get multiple fighters ready for their brightest prospect to smash.
It’s unlikely that he will be rescheduled to fight ‘Rocky’ once again. But one can expect him to fight opponents of the same caliber as his championship aspirations peak.
