Michael Chandler  has been waiting to fight Conor McGregor for a substantial period. It was expected that their fight would be announced right after their ‘Ultimate Fighter,’ season would end. But their fight was not made official then and even now there is no set date. Many point fingers at the Irishman for the bout to be lingering.

Amidst this debacle, it is Chandler who has been kept on standby. Moreover, In a recent turn of events, the 37-year-old was asked if he ever contemplated deserting the idea of facing the ‘Notorious,’ one in the last year. His response is quite startling, to say the least.

According to Chandler, reveals the UFC never indicated to him that a fight with McGregor may not be on the cards. Subsequently, he did not mind waiting for McGregor to come back. He remained adamant about not facing anyone apart from the biggest star even when the former two-weight world champion was considering other options, Chandler remained adamant about not facing anyone apart.

In an episode of Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, he stated, “I’m thinking, man, I am going to look like a big dummy if this thing doesn’t ever happen. But once again, making taking the risk, taking a calculated risk, not being afraid of the quote-unquote failure if this guy never comes back or if he came back and for a while he was calling out other people and oh, he’s, I’m gonna get passed over, they say, and they’re going to do this fight or that fight.”

His desire to not abandon a potential fight stems from the fact that he considers it to be inevitable. In the same interview, he added, “But ultimately, man, when you feel it in your heart, in your gut, you just got to roll with it.”

Michael Chandler makes a bold prediction for his potential fight against McGregor

There is a reason why Chandler is so eager to face McGregor. That is because he is confident in his skillset to defeat him and spectacularly defeat him. In an interview with TMZ, he reveals that he looks forward to stopping McGregor inside two rounds and has been manifesting the same. He stated, “I’ve done nothing but envision knocking Conor out within the first two rounds for the last 13 months. So I’m ready to do it.”
