Jamahal Hill is riding the wave of success after defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 283, which crowned him the new light heavyweight champion. He’s now the center of attention, with top-tier fighters like Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka being linked to face him in the octagon. However, Hill doesn’t let the pressure get to him and is confident in his ability to knock out any opponent. The Illinois native recently called out the 18-1-1 record holder Magomed Ankalaev, saying that even he doesn’t seem like much of a threat to him.

This did not sit well with Ankalaev, who promptly issued a stern warning to Hill, letting him know that he was coming for what he believes is rightfully his. Additionally, the Russian took a snide jab on ‘Sweet Dreams’ as he lets the champ know he is not afraid of the challenge.

The 31-year-old said, “He’s up at the top. If I’m ready to go and I’m ready to fight, I fight who’s available… I wouldn’t mind knocking him(Magomed Ankalaev) the f*ck out just for the simple fact that people keep bringing his name up talking to me.”

As soon as this news reached Magomed Ankalaev, he didn’t waste any time in responding to Hill’s challenge. In a snide remark, Ankalaev referred to Hill as ‘chubby’ and made it clear that he was coming for what he believed was his – the light heavyweight belt.

The Russian wrote, “Careful what you wish for, chubby. I am coming for MY belt. @JamahalH”.

There’s a good chance that something significant in the UFC world will come out of this intense verbal sparring match. In addition, Hill criticized Ankalaev’s meltdown during his most recent split draw with Jan Blachowicz, calling it a sign of vulnerability. He said that Ankalaev wouldn’t be able to go far in the race with this kind of response.

Having thrown shade at each other, Jamahal Hill still has some advice for his potential opponent, Magomed Ankalaev. He believes that Ankalaev’s reaction to the draw showed that he still has some work to do in this regard.

“I don’t really think they feeling Magomed like that. You know, just for like the simple fact of how he responded to the decision of it being a draw. He goes, ‘I’ll never fight for the UFC’. You know, like, that’s not gonna get you a title shot, bro. They might put him through another test.”
