Israel Adesanya got the nod on the judges’ scorecard and won the unanimous decision against Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC 271. However, the champion did not do much in the fight and just scored points by leg kicks to win the decision. Michael Chandler was unhappy with the champion’s performance and called him out on Twitter.
Trust me, I love Izzy. But we have gotten to a point where a dominant champ just needs to stand there, throw a few shots per round and he will not lose unless he gets caught&he will always get the nod. Izzy got paid on this last contract…go FIGHT, don’t you dare spar. #UFC271

The narration that ‘to be the champion, you have to beat the champion’ has been around for years. However, it is not included in the judging criteria.
‘The Last Stylebender‘ barely managed to win the fight, but if we look at the scorecard, it appears he dominated the entire bout. However, all the rounds except the first round were close.
Michael Chandler, unlike Israel Adesanya, believes in giving exciting fights
Before the fight, Israel Adesanya stated he is the champion and the challenger has to bring the fight to him. However, ‘Iron‘ does not share the same sentiments as the middleweight champion of the world. He usually goes inside the octagon to put on a show and does not care about the results.

‘Iron’ is one of the most exciting fighters. Even though he has had only three fights in the UFC, he has already made a big name for himself outside the UFC.
