T.J. Dillashaw is all set to return to the Octagon at UFC Vegas 32. The fighter will return after a 2-year hiatus to face Cory Sandhagen. Dillashaw was banned 2 years ago when he failed a drug test after his fight with Henry Cejudo. Now as the fighter is set to return to action, people have different views about the same.
Many believe that Dillashaw does not deserve to compete again, as he tarnished the reputation of the sport. While others believe that the fighter has paid his dues and deserves a second chance. Recently Michael Bisping also shared his views on the subject.

He said, “T.J. Dillashaw has served a two-year suspension, and he came out and he owned up to it, and I’ve got to say, I respect that. I do. Everybody knows my stance on steroids but the fact that he came out and he owned up to it, he put his hand up and said, ‘Yeah, I cheated, the pressure got to me,’ it’s refreshing.
“It’s refreshing to see. Most people make up some nonsense. They say it was some cream or a supplement of whatever. They come out with outlandish things to try and make up for it rather than just saying, ‘Hey, I did it. You got me.’ So I respect that.”
Bisping clearly is a fan of people who stand up for what they did and accept their mistakes. Therefore, the former fighter and sports analyst believes Dillashaw deserves respect for owning up to his mistake.

Dillashaw’s case was not the first in which they have banned a fighter for failing a drug test. There have been a plethora of such cases in UFC history. However what Bisping clearly believes is that if a person has served the punishment, he deserves to return to the Octagon.

He said, “He served his two-year suspension. You may have different thoughts on that. Maybe you think he shouldn’t be here, he should be banned for life, whatever that is, but that doesn’t matter because the punishment was dealt. It was a two-year suspension, and he served that.”
Drug use is a sensitive matter in combat sports or sports in general. Almost every fan, critic, and athlete has different views on the same, and Bisping’s views on the subject are quite clear.
