Since his rise to fame, UFC star Conor McGregor has occupied the larger discourse on the UFC. However, his transcending persona shadows the man who worked behind him. The Irishman’s coach, John Kavanagh, is a national figure in his country. The founder of SBG Ireland produced and trained prolific fighters like ‘Notorious’ and Gunnar Nelson, among many others. Kavanagh, who started his MMA journey after a humiliating incident, is also the current IMMMA president. Recently, the noted MMA coach offered his services to impart skills to the national police to cope with ‘bad guys’. In addition, he was ready to provide the services for free.

Notably, he replied to a tweet by Irish Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, Simon Harris. The Fine Gael party associate is also doubling up as Minister for Justice. Harris, in his tweet, disclosed his recent interactions with groups on domestic, sexual & gender-based violence. Further, he chalked out a future agenda to tackle the same.
