Khabib Nurmagomedov appeared at the Hotboxin’ Podcast recently alongside Mike Tyson and co-host Henry Cejudo. ‘The Eagle’ opened up many interesting facts about his personal and professional life. He also emphasized the upbringing he had at the mountains of Dagestan from a very young age.
Nurmagomedov said he has had many street fights over the course of his life. He also revealed what his mother told him during those times. ‘Never Come Home if you lose,’ was the strict verdict provided by the Russian fighter’s mother to him. Well, a familiar former foe of ‘The Eagle’ reacted to those comments.

Tony Ferguson took to Twitter to react to Nurmagomedov’s recent comments. “WellThen, That Explains Everything” 29 – 1 See Fathead Run, RunFatheadRun *bawkbawk* -Champ -CSO- # WhatAPuts # Time4Work,” wrote ‘El Cucuy’ in his recent post. Of course, it was a jibe at the Dagestani, the man he has never faced yet.
It was one of the highly anticipated contests in the history of the UFC. Both Ferguson and Nurmagomedov are two of the greatest lightweight fighters in UFC history. While ‘The Eagle’ became an undisputed champion and defend his belt 3 times, Ferguson never got to fight for the belt, despite being the interim champion.
‘El Cucuy’ was once on a 12-fight winning streak in the lightweight division of the UFC. However, a loss Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 broke that run. Back-to-back defeats against Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush since then see Ferguson in a painful 3-fight skid.

A brief history of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson
Ferguson and Nurmagomedov would have clashed 5 times, as mentioned earlier. However, both parties had to withdraw from the proposed contest, meaning they never actually clashed. The latest cancelation came at UFC 249 because of COVID-19.
Many believed prime Ferguson was Nurmagomedov‘s kryptonite because of his unorthodox style and legendary durability. However, his fall from grace and the Dagestani’s retirement means fans will never actually get to see what could have happened had the duo fought.
