Two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is gearing up for her next fight when UFC returns to France. She made an appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’, where she mentioned that at one point, she considered hanging up her gloves. However, the fans did not buy what she was selling.

It’s been over a year since we saw ‘Thug’ fight inside the Octagon. The outcome of her last fight didn’t turn out to be in her favor, either. In one of the most uneventful title fights ever, Namajunas took on Carla Esparza for the second time in her career and lost to her once again, losing her strawweight title in the process. The former champion has now stepped forward with some surprising revelations about her last outing.

The former 2-time strawweight champion seemingly put her MMA career on hold. While she was away, Namajunas took part in a grappling match and also featured in a documentary. Meanwhile, during her recent interview with combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, she mentioned that at one point she didn’t consider coming back to fight inside the Octagon. Namajunas said, “I definitely thought that I was done for a good amount of time.”

The former champion also mentioned that before getting inside the Octagon at UFC 274, she was not feeling as aggressive as she should have. Namajunas was struggling to find her fighting spirit. She added, “There was definitely a number of things, but the way I felt going into the locker room [at UFC 274], I just didn’t feel aggressive and I felt like I don’t really want to hurt anybody. So I was just like, ‘Yeah, I guess I’m done.” However, the fans don’t think that was the case.

Is the former champion lying? Fans react

UFC fans were quick to take shots at Rose Namajunas on social media. They believe that she’s lying since her last fight didn’t turn out to be an exciting one. They stated that she was being dramatic and would not admit that her last fight was boring.

  • She lying lmao she trying to change the narrative around her snooze fest of a fight, because how all a sudden you don’t remember “the factors”
  • I like Rose but everything always so dramatic with her. Just say you had a sh*t fight

Some fans mentioned how Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan acted like they were her biggest fans. However, they don’t see her as an exciting fighter. Moreover, they do not care about Namajunas at all. Fans believe that she is not as tough as people make her out to be.

  • Rogan and DC are roses biggest fans I never really saw the hype tbh
  • Who cares
