SPOTTED: Eagle-Eyed UFC Ringside Physician Points Out the Surgical Scar on Conor McGregor’s Broken Leg

Conor McGregor has been out of the octagon since July 2021. Though the layoff is not long considering McGregor’s activity, inside the octagon, since 2016; It certainly feels longer because of his injury. The Irish superstar broke his left ankle during the trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
Later, he had surgery on it; the ringside physician, Dr. David Abbasi, has spotted the mark of the surgery in McGregor’s recent Instagram post. Thus, he posted about it on Twitter.
Conor posted a new photo today.

‘The Notorious‘ suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula in his left leg at UFC 264. However, after the surgery, the titanium rod fixed his tibia injury and plates and screws repaired the fibula.
The former double champion is looking to make a comeback sometime later this year.
Dustin Poirier had a 10-8 round against Conor McGregor
Before ‘The Notorious’ broke his foot, ‘The Diamond’ was dominating the fight. The Louisiana native had McGregor hurt on the feet. Eventually, McGregor closed the distance, but even on the ground, Poirier was dictating the fight.
In the last moments of the round, both fighters got up and exchanged on the feet. However, McGregor was on the canvas after a missed left hand from Poirier. Later, looking at the replays, it showed that McGregor broke his left ankle.

Just after the injury, the first round ended and hence Poirier couldn’t capitalize much. The fight ended with a doctor’s stoppage. Poirier won the fight and leads the trilogy (2-1). Also, the judges had Poirier winning the only round completed by 10-8.
‘The Diamond‘ has recently dismissed a fourth fight with McGregor inside the octagon and had some reality check for the former double champ. However, he is open to fighting him in a boxing ring.
