Dana White is running the biggest MMA promotion in the world, the UFC. In addition to being the largest MMA promotion overall, it is also one of the largest sports organizations in the world. Apart from the ‘Ultimate Fighting Championship’, Dana White also has another sports league that goes by the name, ‘Power Slap’. And the name clearly suggests what the sport is about. The ‘Power Slap League’ has a separate fanbase of its own. But it appears that White has a rival now in this slap-centric sport.

This rival league we talk about doesn’t involve the conventional ‘slap’ that one would expect. But this one hits the rock bottom. Quite literally.

As unique as it may sound, this slap-fighting competition did raise some eyebrows and got questioned about the safety of the participants. The NAC (Nevada Athletic Commission) commissioner asked for reassurance from the Power Slap league, “You will make sure no one dies?”. UFC’s Chief Business Officer, Hunter Campbell, responded to that by providing a statement of assurance.

“That is priority 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10…” said Campbell. “That goes without saying. Honestly, one of the reasons we tested this was to really understand firsthand in person the health and safety aspect of the sport. We have a high level of comfort following that, working extensively with the commission, to make sure that we believe that safely.”
