UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, has been one of the most influential figures in the sport of MMA. Given his long career in the promotions, the UFC commentator has had some moments where some fighters were offended by the 56-year-old’s commentary on their fights.

However, despite this, the JRE podcast host has tried his best to keep his commentary civil in order to abstain from any beefs with fighters. In a recent Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, the UFC commentator gave his take on how he tries to keep his commentary civil.

In episode #2063 of the JRE podcast, the podcast host opened up about how he comments on the performance of fighters at a UFC event. He claimed that he had to comment on whatever happened during the fights. In case of a fighter having a bad performance, the podcast host would try and figure out why the fighter is having a lackluster performance. He said, “You never know what’s going on. If you see a guy that carrying a little bit of extra weight to be like sometimes you see a little a little bit of love handles like that’s weird. Yeah, there might have been something wrong. Yeah. And that’s so f*cking common.”

Rogan went on to claim that no fighter enters the octagon at 100% fitness level due to their training camps. He stated, “Someone’s got a f*cked up elbow. someone’s neck is kind of weird. Someone doesn’t want to wrestle their knees bad their ankle’s f**ed. They get their ankle taped twice his ankle taped. There’s so many guys go in there with like real f**ing injuries.”

Over the years, the 56-year-old has learned how to be respectful towards fighters while he’s commentating on their fight. He stated, “You know, sometimes you’re just commenting again the moment like you will be friends like oh, he’s breaking he’s breaking. You know, but you have to be careful like how you say that when a guy is in a fight? The guy’s gonna watch it and he knows he’s breaking and you’re just kind of compounding his awful moment.”

Joe Rogan is undoubtedly one of the best commentators in the sport of MMA and has played a very big role in the progression of the sport. However, some fighters have accused the 56-year-old of biased commentary in the past.

Quinton Jackson accuses the 56-year-old of “biased” commentary

There have been fighters who have accused Rogan of being biased in his commentary. Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is one fighter who hasn’t seen eye to eye with the podcast host’s coverage about him. Though he claimed that everything’s cool between the two now, Rampage still refuses to be a guest on the JRE podcast.

Rampage in a podcast episode stated, “I did say something kind of bad. I got tired of people constantly talking s*** about me so I told them, “Watch the UFC and turn the volume down.” It’ll be a different fight- Joe can be kind of biased sometimes toward jiu-jitsu guys. He loves jiu-jitsu guys, and sometimes when I watch the fight, I’ll turn it down a little bit then I’ll get a different view of the fight.”

Joe Rogan was pretty fresh into his career as a color commentator at the time he and Rampage didn’t see eye to eye. Ever since he has matured tenfold in his commentary.
