UFC Vet Warns American Citizen Over Their ‘Tax Dollars’ After Recent Russia Move – ‘We Need To Stop…’

One of the most popular combat sports faces, Jake Shields, had the distinction of claiming the title in multiple promotions he fought for. Further, the UFC veteran has a reputation for his blunt and brash attitude. Likewise, the American grappler doesn’t shy away from expressing hot takes. His blunt and unfiltered tweets remain popular among fans and thus own a popular Twitter handle.

The former UFC welterweight title contender also touches upon every recent development, arriving from any respective field. Notably, in one of his recent tweets, the veteran fighter referred to the current Russian situation.

What did Jake Shields tweet?

The marked submission grappler who last fought in the cage in 2018, posted a series of three tweets on the fresh development of the Russian situation. The highlight of his MMA career came at UFC 129 when Shields fought Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title. However, Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu’s team representative lost the fight on points.

In the first of these tweets, the 43-year-old wrote, “Ukraine shot missiles into Poland and tried blaming it on Russia.” He added further, “Missiles supplied by our tax dollars”.

Following this, the former 5-time world champion made a particular demand. And then again mentioned, “This is a perfect example of why we need to stop supplying Ukraine with weapons”

Lastly, the ‘Skrap Pack’ member stated, “And for those who don’t know Poland is over 3,000 miles from Russia.”

The noted MMA fighter practiced a distinct style that he came up with himself- American Jiu-Jitsu. Significantly, the 33-11 record holder combined the elements of his wrestling background and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion first displayed his distinct style at UFC 121 against Martin Kampmann. And with a win against Kampmann, he went 15-0 in his last 15 fighters and therefore earned himself a title shot at UFC 129.

The notorious crew included Cesar Gracie’s students and featured some prominent names like Dave Terrell, the Diaz brothers, and Gilbert Melendez.

The flagrant group was also involved in one of the wildest brawls in MMA history. The incident dated back to 2010 when Shields basked in his victory against Dan Henderson. However, another Strikeforce fighter, Jason Miller, interrupted the celebrations.

As expected, the interruption didn’t go well with the crew, and then what ensued was utter chaos inside the ring.
