Japanese martial artist Hwang Lee famously summarized the importance of practice and training in MMA, “Where there is preparation, there is no fear”. Thus many students and masters of MMA have focused on the preparation, training, and sparring sessions of the game. This point is emphasized by many combat sports athletes, such as Gordon Ryan. However, things can go wrong during training and practice and can result in some serious consequences. Lastly, a fan voiced their opinion as, “The move involved is commonly done. I’ve seen my instructor do it safely in live rolling many times without incident. I have as well.
