UFC middleweight title challenger, Dricus Du Plessis, is set to take on middleweight champion Sean Strickland at UFC 297. The hype behind the fight is as real as can get, especially after all the things that have happened in the lead-up. However, given Du Plessis’ ambition in the sport, it’s not really surprising.
‘Stillknocks’ in the past has talked about wanting to become a double-division champion. However, he would need to go past the middleweight champion, Sean Strickland first. Given his aspiration in promotion, this makes us wonder how big Dricus Du Plessis actually is.

The UFC title challenger has fought in middleweight for most of his career, even flirting with the welterweight division sometimes. Du Plessis never really had trouble making weight for the division. That being said, Dricus Du Plessis has an insanely massive build for middleweight.
Du Plessis in an interview with Submission Radio, revealed that he has aspirations of becoming a two-division champion in the UFC. He claimed that even though he would be giving up a little bit of reach, he could definitely hang with the bigger guys, in terms of strength and power.

So given that Dricus Du Plessis’s eyes fighting at 205 lbs, he is expected to walk around at least 210 lbs. Which for a guy standing at 6 feet tall is really impressive. Considering he could make 170 lbs early on in his career, it’s absolutely incredible to see how far he’s come in the 185 lbs division.
Coming into the fight against Sean Strickland, Dricus Du Plessis looks about unstoppable. Especially with a 6-0 record inside the UFC Octagon. However, ‘Stillknocks’ has had losses in his professional career.

Dricus Du Plessis certainly has had an incredible run in the UFC, with wins over the likes of Derek Brunson, Darren Till, and even Robert Whittaker, who were all ranked in the top 10 in the division, under the span of a year. However, he suffered some losses early on in his career.

His first loss came under the EFC banner at EFC 33 against Garreth McLellan via a guillotine choke in the third round. He would then go on an 8 fight winning streak but would eventually lose to Roberto Soldic at KSW 45 in their rematch, via KO in the third round. These are the only two losses he suffered in his career.
