Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira went against each for the fourth time at UFC 287. Although it was ‘Poatan’ who always secured the win, it was Adesanya who wore the belt this time. ‘The Last Stylebender’ secured a victory over his rival with a knockout in the second round. Undeniably, the Nigerian warrior received boatloads of applause from the MMA world.
However, things seemed to escalate as Adesanya mocked his rival’s son and sister after securing the win. Without a doubt, Pereira couldn’t leave it at rest. He took to Twitter and shared a video showing all the fights he fought against Adesanya. Furthermore, he declared himself to be the better fighter owing to the number of wins he had over the current UFC middleweight champion. But Adesanya had a reply notched and ready to fire.

‘Poatan’ shared a video that showed all the final moments of the fights he fought against Adesanya. He claimed that he was the better fighter and tried to prove it with the number of wins he had. The video showcased three of the Brazilian’s victories with only for the ‘Stylebender’. Moreover, he didn’t forget to credit his rival to be one of the best. He captioned, “We are the best. But I’m still better. Numbers don’t lie. 3:1.”

However, Adesanya didn’t stay quiet. He replied to the Brazilian’s tweet in his own style. The middleweight champion declared that even though the numbers favored Pereira, the quality of his fighting was superior to the Brazilian. He wrote, “It’s Quality over quantity over here. 3-1, you can keep that. Whatever helps you SLEEP at night…”

After finishing the match in the second round, Adesanya mocked Pereira with the iconic bow and arrow celebration. However, he didn’t stop there. Previously, Pereira’s son mocked Adesanya at his loss by falling down as if he had been knocked out. This time, it was the Nigerian fighter’s turn to send a reply. Later, he tried to justify his actions.
In a video released on his YouTube channel, he said, “His sister, I think was holding them. Shielding them because they were crying. She looked at me. I think they looked at me and that’s when I was just like bang (proceeded with his celebration). And again, I don’t react, I respond.”
