‘When She Was Born We Thought She Was Dead’ – Ronda Rousey’s Mother Talks About How Her Birth Was a Miracle

Ronda Rousey is one of the most illustrious fighters in MMA history. The fighter has accomplished a great deal throughout her legendary fighting career. Rousey made history when she became the first female UFC champion. There is no doubt that she is one of history’s most remarkable females.
Ronda Rousey has had a difficult life and, in truth, her birth was a miracle. Her mother revealed in the Netflix documentary Through My Father’s Eyes: The Ronda Rousey Story,” when she was born, we thought she was dead.”

Rousey fought through Hypoxia, and doctors struggled to cut her umbilical cord from around her neck. Her mother explained, “An Apgar Score is what you get when a baby is born. It’s from like 0 to 10, and essentially zero means you have a dead baby… I think her first one was zero. And then the next one, I think, was a three. So it means they got her breathing then. “
Rousey had difficulty speaking as a child and couldn’t properly speak until she was six years old. But she fought her way through her problems and became one of the most influential people in the world.

Rousey is without a doubt one of the top fighters in MMA history. During her heyday, she was absolutely unstoppable. ‘Rowdy’ was the first female UFC champion and holds the record for the most title defenses by a woman in the history of the promotion.
Her MMA record stands at 12 wins and 2 losses. She made her debut at King of the Cage: Turning Point, back in 2011. Her last professional MMA fight was against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in 2016.
