The Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards fight at UFC 278 left everyone shocked as the latter knocked his opponent. People had a crazy reaction to the fight. NFL’s Aaron Rodgers appeared on episode #1865 of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ and they discussed the vicious KO.

Rodgers drew a comparison between boxing and MMA. After all, there is always a risk of getting knocked out in the boxing ring. However, he was of the opinion that the Usman-Leon situation doesn’t happen as often in the UFC.

Rodgers said, “That’s what I love about the Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder fights. It’s because you just knew at any point, didn’t matter who’s ahead, one punch from any of these guys and it would be f**king over.”

“UFC, you just don’t see that a whole lot, where a guy’s getting his a** whooped and then comes back and…”.

Rogan agreed with his guest and further felt that Edwards did not absorb a lot of punishment during the bout. Instead, he was just lagging behind on the judges’ scorecards. Hence, the UFC color commentator gave credit to the Britisher’s conditioning.

Rogan felt it was a grueling fight for Edwards, but the fighter was fast enough. In fact, during their discussion, Rogan and his guest watched a clip of the UFC fighter practicing his left kicks. As a result, the podcaster felt that Edwards and his team might have studied Usman’s tendency to move to the right.

Some of the best welterweights have tried to snatch Usman‘s crown but have been unsuccessful. While ‘Rocky’ did the impossible, many cannot stop talking about how the fight could have gone to a decision victory in Usman’s favor.

In fact, Rogan brought up the subject in his discussion. He revealed Dean Thomas saying the Brit was ‘broken’. Regardless, the veteran commentator marveled at Edward’s great technical fight in the Octagon. The kick to Usman’s head was smooth and hidden. Thus, no one saw it coming.
