Last month, the state of Hawaii faced the worst natural disaster in its history when it was struck by wildfires. Before the flames could be contained, the catastrophic disaster had already claimed over 100 lives. In these hard times, many celebrities, including Dwayne Johnson, stepped forward to support Hawaiians. Meanwhile, the islanders continue to struggle with the aftereffects of the flames.
Dwayne Johnson, aka ‘The Rock‘, along with talk show host and author Oprah Winfrey, donated $5 million each to the relief work. The gesture is gaining appreciation from people all over the world, including a former UFC world champion.

The recent Instagram post by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is winning hearts on the internet. In praise of this kind gesture, the post is filled with comments, including one from none other than former Welterweight king, Tyron Woodley. Reacting to the post, Woodley wrote, “Solid as they come”, thus applauding The Rock.

Last year, a similar gesture was shown by ‘T-Wood’ himself when the fighter donated $4,000 to Stephan Bonnar after the fighter’s house went up in flames. A former welterweight champion, Woodley bid adieu to the UFC and MMA back in 2021. This decision came following a 4-fight losing streak. Since then, the fighter has also lost two boxing matches against Jake Paul. But despite his downfall as an athlete, Woodley continues to shine as a human.
Woodley’s peers aren’t behind when it comes to supporting Hawaii
Just like ‘The Rock,’ many of Woodley’s UFC peers have come out in support of Hawaii. Woodley’s former boss, Dana White, has donated a million dollars to support the relief work. Apart from this, he also announced that the promotion will donate all the income made from their newly released ‘UFC Loves Hawaii’ tees.

Woodley’s fellow UFC veteran, Dustin Poirier, also donated $10,000 for the cause. However, along with the praises, the move also drew some negative comments for the ‘Diamond’. Nevertheless, any kind of support in such catastrophic times is appreciable, and all these supports will definitely make things a little easier for the Hawaiians.”
